Romans 10:5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
When did Moses say that?
Deuteronomy 6:25 And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us.

The Apostle Paul tells us the law is weak and beggarly...
Galatians 4:9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
...and to stand fast!!Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
We are to glory in the cross, not the law!!
Galatians 6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
I certainly wouldn't glory in the law and commandments, neither would I put them on my iphone, pc, or anything else...
I would not find glory in the law either BUT it was put in place for a reason (then) and it is God's word. While I know my success or failure in keeping these 10 "rules" has nothing to to with my Salvation which is through grace alone. I do know that is was my sinful nature that made the sacrifice of Jesus necessary. I also know there is some effort on my part to live a life worthy of the gift that I have received. Colossians 3:1-17
And I agree, the tragedy on the cross is the most glorious thing in my life. That alone is my hope.
And I still think the artist renditions of the commandments is awesome. I would love to see more passages put into pictures. Ask anyone who knows me I need pictures.
Let us not misunderstand the purpose for which the wallpapers were created. They were not created for us to glorify in the law, but that we should be reminded to follow them. I believe that grace is a free gift from God and that His Grace alone can save us.
2 Timothy 1:9
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
Acts 15:11
But we believe that through the grace of the LORD Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.
To glorify in the law, means that you believe that the law can save you, but no man can accomplish that task and even if we could, we would be full of pride that we did fulfill them, which still leads us back to sin. This is why if we believe that the law can save us, the death of Jesus is in vain! Which is what some of the church leaders back then were doing (unfortunately some still do it today)
Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Now then we can consider the law rubbish compared to the finished work of Jesus on the cross, but Jesus himself followed the law and we see in Ephesians 2:10 that we are called to good works, these “good works” were already ordained for us to follow,... what are these good works? These “good works” are the commandments of God.
Ephesians 2:10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
So the wallpaper is just simply, one way of reminding us, to do the good works of God.

The church, the Body of Christ is the "new creature"
Galatians 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.
....and if you are saved in this present dispensation of the Grace of God...you are the new creature, the church, which is His body.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
So what are the OLD THINGS that are passed away?
The law, Israel, water baptism, circumcission,......
I know I have that right because the next verse tells me so,,,,
2 Corinthians 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
Again.....
Galatians 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
Galatians 3:25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
Notice WAS our schoolmaster, and NO LONGER under. Words are funny that way, they mean stuff!
We have no association with the law and to think or say we are to follow them is an egregious error and improper exegesis.

Paul tells us the law is weak and beggarly and engenders bondage...is that your desire?
Telling someone to follow or teaching the law in this present dispensation of the Grace of God is referred to as vain jangling.......
1 Timothy 1:6 From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;
1 Timothy 1:7 Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.
We are in the dispensation of the Grace of God....
Ephesians 3:2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
So we have a new teacher....
Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Titus 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Grace is our teacher today...and we recieve the instruction from the one Apostle given our doctrine by the risen Jesus Christ
1 Corinthians 14:37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
How did you recieve Christ?

Dean, I am a little confused as to what is going on here. Where exactly does MAD stand on sin, more specifically: a sin committed after one is truly saved?
Also: where does MAD stand on out ongoing effort to "try" to do good? Because the way I see it, almost all of the 10 commandments were reinforced by Paul as the way we should live and the goal we should strive for. Don't misunderstand me here, I DO NOT consider myself under the law but under grace. But just because it was said before Acts does not make it poor form (or wrong) to follow.

1) where do you stand on sin after salvation
a) can we actually commit a sin if once we are saved?
b) if yes, should we make an effort NOT to sin after we are saved

Thanks for allowing me respond on your blog as well as following mine. I agree with the promotion of dialog concerning God's word to the end being edification of the believer and a better understanding of whom God has made us in Christ!
This topic (sin)requires a huge response, therefore, my blog will be a better place for me to post it. But I will answer the 3 questions here in short.
1) We are the church, the body of Christ, the ground and pillar of the truth (1st Tim 3:15) so my stance on sin Romans 6:1...God forbid!
2)Unfortuneatly, we all sin , Paul tells us...Romans 7:15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
3) Romans 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
This is where knowing whom God hath made you in Christ kicks in...we are not "born again" we are ... Colossians 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
And you know, dead guys don't sin much...
Like I said,,this requires more depth than I can submit here...but I will attempt to do it justice on my site...keep checking in...it will be a little while since at the time of this writing I am battling with a good case of the crud, fever, chest congestion and larangitus..GlorY!!!

@ Dean: Aren't we call to good works? What other good works do we know besides that of the law of God. If we say we do not sin, we are liars - now that's breaking one of the commandments. If we help our neighbor, that's keeping one of the commandments. If we sleep with our neighbors wife, commandment broken. Christ even gave us a new commandment before he ascended, love. See: John 13:34-35
"A new commandment I give you, that you love one another, as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples if you have love for one another."
That goes back to the commandment, love you neighbor as yourself. - must we neglect this commandment and the teachings of the "school master", the law of God also?
Jesus' death did not make the commandments garbage - that's like learning biology in high school and when you go to college, the teacher tells you to forget everything you know about the human body because it does not apply.
The major problem churches (Christians) have with the law is teaching that it will save us. The bible tells us that our righteousness is like filthy rags. So teaching that circumcision, sabbath worship, not telling lies etc. will save you is the real garbage & apostasy. We must read the bible in context and stop quoting verses and repeating bible study notes like we know what we are talking about and stop fighting amongst ourselves without inquiry.
Jesus' death gives us the power to go through all temptation and therefore - do His work and practice righteousness - in the end we will be mad perfect - incorruptible.
loswl and Claude F. Cannon, I commend you for handling this in the proper manner. We definitely should show love to our Christian brothers in Christ. A simple Question: "What's the reason for posting the Commandments?", would clear up the misunderstanding but, instead Dean blurted His misconceptions and was found without a valid argument.
