a nice surprise:

When I was a kid, I used to love my grandfathers shop. It was a mess and there was stuff everywhere, for a guy like me that was a ton of eye candy. Tools, parts and machines all over. Piles of them. Well, I seem to have inherited PawPaw's messy-ness. My garage and shop are always a mess, especially after a new stage set or project. Enter LOVE: this morning when I went to crank the mower for my wonderful wife (who will mow when I can't due to messing up the garage) and upon opening the shop door I found EVERYTHING in it's place, clean and organized. Apparently yesterday Sheila went out there and did a number on it. I almost can't wait to get out there and build something!

I don't have a clue how she cleaned it so well. I mean, there isn't even a hint of sawdust out there!

Sheila rocks my world over and over again!

Remember when we used to blog allot?

yeah, me too.
We have been so busy and I don't see it letting up. I have a ton of stuff to get done and whenever I think about it all, I get a little overwhelmed. Well, I have my to-do list and am checkin it off one item at a time.

Thanks you to the people who have stepped up to help.

NOT FUNNY!

Peep Note

Not funny at all!
Stop laughing!
I am serious, stop it!
Ok, look, you had your laugh now move on!

p.s. that is not peep poop, see below:

Happy Easter everyone

NO, THANK YOU!!!!

You know I am grateful BUT I don't deserve this:
Today when we checked the mail there was a heavy envelope with no return name on it. When Sheila (my wonderful wife) opened it, we found it stuffed with gift cards from all over. This could not have come at a better time, we are beat from the egg hunt and feeling drained. So something like this is a great refill.

I am sure it is some people from Discovery Church just showing their appreciation, but let me tell you all right here and now: It is an absolute honor to be serving here. I feel BLESSED that God has brought us here to work with and around you all. I am constantly amazed at how many people at Discovery step up to help each week. You ladies and gents have broken the mold when it comes to church service. You all go above and beyond each week.

THANK YOU ALL for having us.

btw, the egg hunt ROCKED! I saw nothing but smiles all day long. I got to talk to a bunch of families and had a blast doing it. I cannot believe how many Discovery People stepped up to help, you all looked great in your blue shirts (except Brad).

This Sunday at the R.O.C.K

the Rock is our children's church. I work with k5-6th grade (actually they work with me). But this sunday we are going to have some destructive fun. Sheila and I made this:

It is out of wood and each item is cut out (mostly) and hanging on by just a little bit of wood. The kids will use a hammer to knock out the things that have NOTHING to do with what God did for us.

And bunnies have NOTHING to do with it so this little guys has to go!

Eggs, nope no egg in our salvation! I am sure we could say something like "new life" or "born again" but sorry, the egg has to go by-by.
And no baskets either. so hammer time it is.

And sorry, the cross has to go to. Now before you freak out on this one, hear me out: When God sent His Son Jesus to pay for our sins, the cross was a major part of it. But guess what? plenty of people died on cross's. There were two of them at Jesus side during his death. So death on a cross wasn't the gift, Jesus death was the gift, regardless of how he died. It is not the how as much as the why.

here is the uniqueness of what God did, the empty tomb. Thats right, Jesus did die on a cross and was placed in a tomb. On the third day (the day we "refer to as easter") He rose from the grave. once and for all defeating death. That and that alone nobody but Jesus did. All the OTHER easter traditions will leave you empty. But only the empty tomb will fulfill what God had in store for you all along.

Now if you read my post below, you will see that WE are having an egg hunt on Saturday. "OH NO, NOT an egg hunt, but I thought you said..." Right I did say that this stuff has NOTHING to do with our God and His gift of salvation. But then again, neither does putting gas in my car, hanging pictures on the wall, or calling the days of the weeks by their names. We are not trading our faith for an egg hunt, we are simply trying to bring Pitt county families together to bless them with some games, and some fun. We will offer them our help in any way we can, we will pray for them and we will feed them. And we will do it in an environment that we can control. So come out Saturday to have some good clean fun but you are welcome to come out on Sunday to hear about something even better than games and prizes, the best gift EVER GIVEN: Jesus Christ.

Now that is a good looking group

This is our neighborhood canvasing posse. We went out last Saturday and hit close to 1000 homes with Egg Hunt invites. They knocked it out in about an hour and a half.

BTW, don't you like the shirts? I am so proud of them. If you come to the egg hunt, you will see a bunch of them. All of the workers will be sporting them.

I did want the art a little bigger but everyone still likes them.

Ok 2 days and counting until the big event. We are praying for over 1000 people to come out. The band will be playing, hot dogs will be cooking and I just want Greenville people to have a fun day.

BTW the jpeg is yellow, I don't know why it came out blue here?
