It will happen for three more weeks then be gone. Jason in a suit. The only way you get this is at a funeral or a wedding! So soak it up!
Kinda looks like a preacher...or a used car salesman!

One more game

OK, if you cannot guess this one, I need to stop doing them! This is the best game EVER and the song rocks!

It is not done but I think it's looking pretty good so far.

This sunday was great, church just shouldn't be that fun! If we keep doing stuff like that, we will have to go to two services. Joey rocked the product descriptions, Jason put on a suit and people won stuff! Did I mention that the message was awesome and really hit home with me. Thanks to all that helped!

Saturday, February 23

last peek for Saturday Bloggers:)

This is what we will be doing in church tomorrow! Don't miss it! This is just one of the props Jason will be teaching on God and Finances. We are doing The Price is Right and you all will have to decide if Jason is more of a Bob Barker or a Drew Carey
So come on down and afterward log back in to decide who he was more like.

Monday, February 18

How cool is THIS?

I have been sick (thanks to all the germ infested people who contributed (you know who you are!)) and feeling like poo! It is hard to stay focused or be motivated to do anything. This picture is how I felt this morning:But then something happened that changed my day! There was a knock at my door just as we were sitting down to "study" the Price is Right (for church of course). I figured it was Jason with some work related stuff that I was not motivated to do anyway. But to our surprise, it was two of our church kids and their dad with a little (ok BIG) pick-me-up gift. And wouldn't you know it, I was just getting hungry! While it probably wasn't the best choice for a lunch, it sure was good!

So, guys, it you are reading this: Thank YOU VERY MUCH it was HUGE mood raiser for Sheila and myself! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

I feel much better and this stuff is awesome! I have to go by Pirate's Popcorn and check out some more flavors!

Sorry,

I really don't feel like blogging this morning...oh, wait...I just did!!! Sorry!

I will try to get you something later to brighten your day. If not, will you forgive me?

Monday, February 11

OK, I still has calls today BUT:

Cliff (the owner) called today and had me forward ALL my calls to him! So He is the only one who can call me now. That means tomorrow could very well be my first day without any calls from M & C! I feel out of the loop but I guess thats what's supposed to happen.

If I make it trough with no calls, I will let you know.

Cause you asked for it: (Plus it's my job now:))

Crosslink is stepping up

Our youth group is really growing. It’s a little intimidating! I thank God for Randy and Jason having both served with youth over the years. This is a true building process and with God’s help we can point it in the right direction.
If you are into praying, here is my request: That first and foremost, God is and remains in total control. Then that God will do something unique with this group. Not that “the normal” youth group isn’t good but I envision something special here. I don’t know what, that’s why we need your prayers. Also pray for depth, I want these teens to be grounded in God not fun & fellowship. And lastly, that God will make this all happen easily. I am not afraid of work but, hey I wanna be selfish a little and want this thing to flow. Plus the less I do with it, the less chance I have to mess it up!

This week at Crosslink, we had 25 teens and about 11 worker/helpers! Praise God, these kids are still bringing their friends! We had a great time with the games. They played “Bear, Ninja, Cowboy” (hey Randy, we need to do a video on this! Youtube baby!!!), Then we had a little round of Doughnut hole basketball. The only dribbling here was from their mouths! After that we settled down for a little lesson on applying God to our events. It went a little like this:
The event is the paint

Going into an event or activity prayed up and relying on God is like the Primer before the paint (event). It is preparation and It will offer a good foundation for whatever is to come and God will show through.

Occasionally, we find ourselves somewhere unexpected and haven’t had the time to pray about it or think things through. This is where the Clear coat comes in. You apply it after the fact and it protects and shines. How do you do this? When you find yourself somewhere unexpected that could compromise your integrity. Take a second to remember God, that he will never leave you, that you are not ashamed of Christ. Pray (under your breath or quietly) To God for wisdom, protection, courage and strength. When you do this, you will shine and not find yourself dirty and scratched up.

So here are your options: Prime, Shine or Whine!

Dudes I love (not in that way!)

Dude 2 is Davey Kolk, He is our music minister/praise leader. Davey is the coolest weird person you will ever meet. He marches to the beat of his own drum (ok, maybe metronome but you get the point). He is a good friend to Dude # 1 (Randy). This guy has more talent in his pinky then I have in my whole body! He has his own blog so check it out. He brings so much to the Discovery Church Table that I cannot even imagine how it would be without him. He helps plan services, he brings the humor to staff meetings and he always says things in the nicest possible way. If he has a problem with you, he will let you know in such a nice way that you somehow leave feeling good about it.

He plays a mean guitar! He is very humble about his talent. He is good, really good. Check his blog, a few weeks back he posted a classical piece he was working on. He has a desire to give God his best on stage and loves good quality sound. He works miracles with the loaner stuff we have to work with.
Davey loves the Lord! He is always willing to pray and I love listening to him do it. He talks to God like a friend but with reverence. It’s neat. If you ever meet him, you have to test his music trivia. He knows NO secular music at all but boy does he know his Christian songs!

He is getting married soon to a girl that is equally in love with God and equally talented. I got a chance to watch these two work together, on a nursery cd and boy, they knocked my socks off. Forgive the pun but they were in tune! They were working as one and it was nothing less than an honor for me to be a part of it.
And now for some pictures:
Randy is his mini-me!

He loves to serve nice and early in the morning!

He's been know to be fuzzy!

He, too, is a sleeper!

If there's food, he's in! So is his Dad (between, him and his mini-me)
So give it up for Davey (Aka: Kolk-a-mainia, the Kolkster, Kolk-er-cola and the Yeti)!
Thank you for who you are and what you do!

Dudes that I love (not in that way!)

Ok, over the next few weeks I am going to highlight and spotlight Dudes that mean a lot to me in Christ. These are people that I hold in the highest regard and thank God for their help and willingness.

This week is Randy Strickland (aka: Rand-Man, Little Orphan Randy, The Rand-a-nator and Raggedy Randy). This guy is awesome in so many ways that it will be hard to do him justice here.
He's on the left

Disclaimer: If you make my list and I don’t write as much about you or post as many pictures, please keep in mind that I have know Randy for a long stinkin’ time (I think even longer than I have know Jason).
Randy was a helper to me in the Awana Clubs while he was in High School. He worked for me at M & C Assemblies and has been serving the church for as long as I have known him. He comes from the coolest parents who both serve God and actually made it possible for Sheila and myself to be here with you all. I also know for a fact that those two are very proud of him.
He has a way with people, but he is even better with teens and elementary kid than he is with grown ups. He is funny! If you can talk to him for 3.4 minutes and not laugh at something, then you are just no fun at all and need to seek help. He is even funny when he’s mad…but you WILL get his point!
He is a hard worker. When he worked with me, he was truly one in ten that I treasured as an employee. He worked hard and fast. He never compromised his integrity and he was a great asset to our company.
He has only been a husband and a father for a short while but, as with everything else, he is impressive at it. He will (and does) anything for his family.
Now to the pictures:

He's a thinker!
He's a sleeper!

He talks in circles!

He's......Peter Pan?

Randy is currently serving in our praise band, our youth group (crosslink) and he is a big part of our creative team here at Discovery Church. So a big THANK YOU and keep-on-servin to you Randy!
Ok, I had to add this picture! this was just to funny.

Thursday, February 7

Still on the phone!

Ok, its Thursday and I have had calls every day this week form my old job. They mostly start the call off with "I know I shouldn't call you, but..." I don't mind too much and it's just info they want.

Still, I am curious to see how long before I get a whole day without any calls from them.

Ok, so you keep up with Jason"s Blog and you know he is sick. Well he kindly shared it with me! Now I am sick and Sheila is sick. We are popping vitamins lick TicTac's, downing plenty of Airborne and capping it all of with some Nyquil. Sheila seems to feel worse but I still have time to catch up with her. So jump over to his blog and tell him if he is sick, we can do a conference call or group chat staff meeting!

I gotta run, yeap I'm headed over to his house to see if he has any more germ's he can give me!!!

Monday, February 4

hold on, I'm the phone!

Ok, So Friday was may last day at my old job. Well I had calls from them all Saturday and all day today. I didn't work this hard when they paid me! I have been fighting to not call and handle some things that I know need to be done. So far I’m doing ok.

I will let you guys know when I make it through my first day with NO M & C calls!

Cause you asked for it: (Plus it's my job now:))
